Amit Diwan serves as Head of Asia Pacific and the Middle East at Hines, leading the firm’s investment, development, acquisitions, asset management, and operations across some of the world’s most dynamic real estate markets. He oversees Hines’ activities across the region, driving strategic growth, fostering partnerships, and delivering integrated solutions to meet the evolving needs of investors, occupiers, and clients. He is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
With nearly 25 years of experience across India and the Asia Pacific region, Amit has played a key role in building and scaling real estate businesses across diverse markets. Prior to his current role, he served as Head of India at Hines, leading the firm through a period of significant growth. Under his leadership, Hines expanded its presence to five cities in India and grew a diversified portfolio exceeding 20 million square feet across office, residential, and mixed-use developments.
Before joining Hines, Amit held various roles in the industry, including launching GE Real Estate’s operations in Singapore, and expanding the business across Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Vietnam. He also established the North India business for Piramal Fund Management (formerly Indiareit), a leading real estate investment platform. Earlier in his career, Amit was with Marakon in Singapore, advising C-suite executives of leading corporations across nine countries in the Asia Pacific region.
Amit is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and is also a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) Gurgaon Chapter. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, and a master’s degree from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
